Description
Flexible and modular I/O structure
The I/O modules developed for FLEXEM FL7 and FL8 PLCs offer modular and compact I/O solutions that can be easily configured according to the input and output needs of machine automation systems.
The modules, which enable digital and analog signals as well as temperature and various field signals to be transferred reliably to the PLC system, create a flexible and orderly automation infrastructure in control panels. On the FL8 platform, I/O expansion modules can also be used with EtherCAT-based systems.
FL7 and FL8 use the same modules
These modules work with both the FL7 and FL8 series — they are also listed as a single module family in the manufacturer’s own list. The same stock serves two PLC families; the modules can be retained when the machine is renewed.
Digital I/O modules
The FLEXEM digital I/O family includes different input and output configurations. With PNP/NPN digital outputs, relay outputs and input-output modules with different channel counts, a structure suited to the machine’s field signals can be built.
Analog I/O modules
Analog modules can be used to read or generate industrial analog signals such as 0–10 V, ±10 V and 0–20 mA. Thanks to 16-bit resolution options, they enable analog signals such as sensor, pressure, temperature and speed reference to be transferred precisely to the control system.
Temperature and special signal modules
Depending on the system’s needs, different module options for temperature sensors and special field signals can also be used. This way, different measurement and control needs can be met through a single PLC infrastructure.
