OGS Otomasyon ve Mühendislik San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. is an industrial automation and engineering company based in Esenler, İstanbul. For more than 20 years we have been designing, implementing and commissioning control systems for machine builders and manufacturing facilities. Alongside industrial automation, we also provide engineering services in custom software, web and database solutions, and system integration.
What we do
Our scope of work spans from control software to panel manufacturing, and from custom software development to system integration. PLC and HMI programming, servo systems and motion control applications, hydraulic system control, electrical panel design and manufacturing, together with marine and crane automation, are our main areas of activity.
On a project we typically take on not a single stage but the entire chain: preparing the electrical design, material selection, panel manufacturing, on-machine installation, software and commissioning. This way responsibility is not fragmented, and issues that arise on site are resolved through a single point of contact.
Software and digital solutions
In addition to industrial applications, we also develop solutions in the field of software and digital engineering. We develop PC and desktop applications, custom software, and process monitoring and control software; for large-scale and enterprise projects, we develop web design and custom web software, corporate sites and e-commerce solutions.
Through database design and management, data analysis and reporting systems, we make the data coming from production and business processes traceable and usable. We enable the integration of machines and facilities with different software and hardware infrastructures; with industrial communication, remote access, IoT and Industry 4.0 solutions, we make systems more connected and efficient.
Sector experience
We have worked across many sectors, foremost among them steel, sheet metal and stainless steel processing lines, packaging, carton and packing machines, high-frequency machines, ship and marine applications, crane and lifting systems, factory automation and process lines. Each sector has its own constraints: on the packaging side, cycle time and synchronization; in sheet metal processing, positioning precision; on the crane side, safety and load control come to the fore. The equipment and control architecture are selected according to these constraints.
Field work
Our team works actively in the field. In crane automation revision projects carried out in shipyard environments, we have undertaken extensive work on hydraulic systems, power panels and joystick control integration. In such revisions it is common for the existing system to be undocumented; a significant part of the work is establishing the current state and fitting the new control structure onto it.
Engineering depth
We are not merely an integrator that brings ready-made products together. We also carry out our own R&D; our process of developing a domestic frequency inverter (VFD) is ongoing. This work allows us to see drive technology not only from the user’s side but also from the designer’s side.
On the electronics service side, we also repair PLCs, servo drives, inverters and industrial control boards. Repairing a faulty board is often a faster and lower-cost solution than replacing it.
Equipment selection
Equipment selection is made according to the requirements of the application, the existing infrastructure at the facility, the availability of spare parts and service duration. The brands we work with include Kuhnke, Flexem, Panasonic, Danfoss, ABB, GMT, EATON, Schneider, Öznur Kablo, Atek, Inovance, Klemsan, Molwex, Finder, Control Techniques, Fenac, Sick, Üntel Kablo and Novakon.
The reason we offer product supply together with engineering service is simple: when the team that selects the product is the same team that commissions it, incompatibility and gaps in responsibility disappear.
