Matched servo system — EtherCAT

The FV3-R3 series is an economical rotary servo system consisting of servo drives and servo motors matched to each other. Since the drive and motor are selected together, the wiring, encoder and brake connections are offered as a ready-made set. This page covers the EtherCAT field bus version of the series (the motors are the same as the pulse version).

Control and communication

The drive is controlled over EtherCAT; with a 125 µs synchronization period, it provides fast and deterministic motion control. It has 4 digital inputs / 4 digital outputs (EtherCAT type). For parameter setting, it offers a Type-C debug port and parameter upload/download via Bluetooth.

Motor and encoder

The motors feature a 17-bit multi-turn absolute encoder. The range is in 200 W, 400 W, 750 W and 1000 W power ratings; the 200/400 W models have a 60 mm flange and the 750/1000 W models an 80 mm flange. Nominal speed is 3000 rpm, high inertia. Each power level is offered with two motor options, with brake and without brake (code suffix −230 without brake, −232 with brake).

Drive

The drives are powered by single-phase 200–240 VAC (±10%, 50/60 Hz) and have a built-in 24 V source for control. An external braking resistor (min. 40 Ω) is supported. One drive works with both the braked and non-braked motor of the same power.

Model list

The table below shows the 8 servo motors in the Turkey list (4 with brake + 4 without brake); each row gives the matched servo drive, motor cable and encoder cable for that motor together. The braked and non-braked motor of the same power share the same drive. The cables are 5 m; the braked motor comes with a motor cable with brake conductor (FVL-MBA…).
