Description
FS-Unified platform
The F5 series PLC is built on Flexem’s own FS-Unified platform. It has an IEC 61131-3 architecture and the PLCopen standard instruction set; it supports motion control functions such as electronic cam, electronic gear and interpolation. It offers built-in Ethernet and serial port together with an object-oriented programming approach.
Two families: FC5 and FC5M
The series has two families. FC5 is the standard PLC family; it has no high-speed pulse input or output. FC5M is the Motion PLC: it features 7-point 100 kHz high-speed pulse input and 6-point 100 kHz pulse output (only on transistor-output models).
Both families have 20, 30 and 40-point I/O options.
Ladder diagram and structured text
Project development is done with the FStudio Unified software; it supports ladder diagram (LD) and structured text (ST) languages. The software displays the hardware configuration visually through its graphical interface.
Program upload without external power
Even when no external power is connected to the F5 series, a project can be uploaded via the Type-C cable connected between the PLC and the computer.
Modbus-RTU / TCP support
Modbus-RTU and Modbus-TCP protocols are configured without writing code. If there are multiple slaves on the same protocol, one slave configuration can be copied to the others.
Rich model and expansion options
Different supply types (DC 24 V / AC 220 V), different output types (relay, NPN, PNP) and numerous digital/analog expansion modules are available. The BD cards attached to the front of the CPU offer a more economical expansion path; with the IoT module attached on the left side, the PLC can connect to a cloud server for remote maintenance and data monitoring.
⚠️ The number of modules that can be attached depends on the CPU’s power supply capacity; the upper limit is 31.
